The customer is one of the leading players on the market for customised injection moulded plastic components. Amongst their customers are many important OEM's in the automotive segment. The customer contacted Nefab concerning the flow of front grills for a new car model. The grills were going to be transported from Italy to two different German plants.
As CPS provider Nefab was invited by the customers engineering department to the RFQ for the packaging solution.
The Nefab offer was designed by the Nefab Packaging Development Centre in cooperation with the customers engineering and the salesman from Nefab Italy. In comparison to the competitors, Nefab’s solution was the best in terms of loading capability; holding 16 grills. Flexibility was also an important success factor since the Nefab solution could transport two different types of grills; one standard model and one sport model.
Nefab's offering was a returnable steel solution and a 3D CAD design of the foldable steel rack was made in IronCAD. When the customer had ordered a sample Nefab received some grills to be able to double check the solution in production.

The grills are packed in an oblique position, which helps to enlarge the container capability and therefore permits as low transport costs as possible. Being able to handle two grill models, this steel rack also makes the handling smooth and simple for the customer and their customer alike.
