This customer has a long-standing history as the provider of Spanish currency. The Mint faced a unique challenge when they began implementation for the introduction of the Euro coin. The vast sums of coins and value paper makes secure packaging a must, as well as tough packaging to handle the weight.
In addition, the customer needed packaging that could be stacked and moved easily within the warehouse. After a joint analysis the chosen solution was a NEFAB returnable packaging collar system (RePak P) with light-weight pallets and lids to be used for currency storage. Plywood packaging has the necessary strength to cope with the pressure created by 350-600 kg coins in each box and the material also provides additional theft security compared to other solutions.
