Nefab continously strive to reduce environmental impact
Only use renewable raw material resources
Whether the packaging material is wooden based or other, Nefab ensures that anything we take out of the ground we do our best to replace. For example, in forests worldwide where our plywood is supplied from, additional trees are planted to replace harvested ones. We also believe in sustainable and responsible forestry, which is why we choose plywood suppliers with strict requirements.
Ensure that material is not taken from rainforest or other sensitive or threatend areas
Nefab's sourcing and procurement are dedicated to ensuring the public, customers, and others of interest, that Nefab in no way uses materials from sensitive environmental areas, such as rainforests.
Use non-toxic glue only
In all applications that require glue (potentially needed in inner packaging applications), Nefab ensures it is always non-toxic. This applies to all Nefab locations worldwide.
Spend resources on returnable systems
- Development and use of own software, RECO, for comparing cost of returnable vs. one-way solutions.
- Research & development efforts to better improve the product/development.
- Key staff members devoted entirely to returnable sales, development, areas of application, etc.
- Consistent promotion of a returnable solutions instead of one-way packaging.

Ensure our packaging is completely recyclable after use
All Nefab packaging can be recyclable. In certain cases, special facilities are used to ensure the material can be separated and recycled to avoid excess waste in landfills.
Use of lightweight packaging material
Nefab's own ExPak, RePak, Lightweight Pallet, and many other products supplied by Nefab are 20-50% lighter than standard alternative solutions. A good example is the ExPak plywood box which compared to the industry standard nailed solid wood crate, provides significant weight reduction. The Nefab ExPak in addition uses no nails in the manufacturing and assembling process.
Transport methods use less fuel to transport goods
Nefab's own developed software Optico is used to optimise containers, trucks, warehouse etc. The Optico software focus on the overall weight of product, external dimensions of packaging, stacking strength, handling, and much more to achieve optimal results.
Optimization of container space and weight
As mentioned previously, the Nefab ExPak and RePak outer packaging materials offer customers the ability to maintain the same inner dimensions of their packaging while decreasing the external dimensions allowing optimised solutions. This is done through lightweight material that offers the same if not enhanced strength.
