This customer needed a durable packaging solution which would be used to transport an aggregate of mammography apparatus within hospitals and, if any repairs were necessary, to customer's repair centre. The previous packaging, a simple wooden box, was not sufficient because of its weight and high damage rate, which was mainly caused on the way to the repair centre and back to the hospitals.
A reusable, plywood container (RePak) with special inner fittings and protective moulded ESD foam was designed.
All the
boxes are equipped with wheels and towing bars to move within hospitals and with integrated loading ramps to simplify handling.
