In 2010 Nefab joined a business partnership with the non-profit organization Trees for the future. The US based organization has since 1989 been helping rural communities around the world to plant trees as a counteract to deforestation and the greenhouse effect. So far ‘Trees’ has planted more than 65 million trees in Central America, Africa, and Asia.
“The partnership means that Nefab is committed to sponsoring Trees for the future’s operations, and will make donations to help fund new projects where they introduce sustainable agroforestry to rural areas”, says Sedat Kantur, coordinator for Nefab’s corporate work group Green team.
For the yearly conducted Customer survey, Nefab committed to making a donation where the size of it would be directly related to the number of customer survey respondents. Our hope was to raise the customers environmental awareness, and engage them to participate in the survey while making an effort for the environment. The fact that the survey response rate was much higher than previous years was a very welcomed result, and as an effect Nefab made a donation equivalent to the planting 8.000 new trees.
