This customer dispatches uninterruptible power supplier worldwide, in many cases by boat to Asian destinations such as Singapore and China. The products being sensitive to shock and corrosion, desired a packaging solution that addressed the issue of protection as well as the overall goal of cost reduction. Nefab was approached to perform a Packaging Review.

The chosen solution was Nefab ExPak, with an Oriented Strand Board (OSB) pallet designed for easy handling and reduced weight. Previously, different types of packaging were used according to the destination, now NEFAB’s plywood box (ExPak) is the only type used by this customer – thus standardising the packaging of worldwide deliveries. Additionally, in order to provide a complete solution, VCI-bags, VCI-pads, plasticfilm and desiccants were included in the proposal.

Furthermore, a JIT delivery system was designed to reduce additional costs.
