WorldStar 2007 winner: Nefab Packaging Hungary Kft in cooperation with Nokia Komárom Kft.
WorldStar 2007 attracted 291 entries from 32 countries around the world – all nominees had to win before in a national packaging competition as condition of appearance.
Nefab Packaging Hungary Kft. in cooperation with Nokia Komárom Kft: "Nokia-Nefab cost effective transport packaging for mobile phones” won during August 2007 on the national Hungaropack packaging competition and now finally in category "electronics”
won a WorldStar prize.
The jury have met on the 24th of October, 2007 in Athens, Greece and selected the winners of the entries. The jury consisted of 25 representatives from the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and one representative from the International Packaging Press Organisation (IPPO)
The award ceremony for WorldStar winners will be held in Accra, Ghana, May 21st, 2008.
Packaging brief:
Cost effective transport securing packaging for mobile phones with coloured and printed shrink film. During the selection process of the packaging material our colleagues carefully investigated and tested to use the minimal material required. Also important that the packaging according to the Hungarian and European Union environmental standards and rules. The packaging material 100% recyclable PE (recycling EN 13430).
From marketing point of view the packaging has the „Nokia blue” colour, and with this represents the company image.
Transport damages reduced dramatically.
Before used corrugated cardboard packaging have changed and costs reduced dramatically in material cost and additional costs (logistics, transport and warehousing). Translate to environmental advantages: much less packaging material used in the packaging system.
With the change the production is much more effective than before and capacity increased with reduced production costs.
On the production area the packaging materials needs much less space which fact increased also the production area and capacity.
