Granted in December 2025, this accreditation marks an important milestone in strengthening Nefab’s technical expertise and quality capabilities.
ISO/IEC 17025 is the internationally recognized standard that defines the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. It sets rigorous requirements for technical proficiency, impartiality, and the ability to deliver valid and reliable test results. For Nefab, this accreditation is particularly critical in supporting healthcare customers, where independent, accredited testing is often a mandatory requirement.
The decision to pursue ISO 17025 accreditation was driven by a specific healthcare customer requirement, underscoring Nefab’s customer-centric approach and commitment to meeting stringent regulatory and quality expectations. With this accreditation, the San Jose Test Lab significantly enhances Nefab’s ability to support healthcare and other regulated industries by offering accredited, in-house testing services—reducing lead times while strengthening customer confidence.
Achieving ISO 17025 accreditation required extensive preparation, robust system implementation, and close cross-functional collaboration.
“This accreditation has been a big challenge and has required strong commitment and collaboration between the Test Lab team and the Quality Department. It involved demonstrating technical competence, ensuring metrological traceability, verifying test methods, estimating measurement uncertainty, managing equipment and infrastructure, developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation and records, ensuring the validity of results, addressing corrective actions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement,” said Carmen Ariza, Regional Quality Manager, Nefab Packaging West.
The laboratory is now officially listed in the accrediting body’s catalog of recognized laboratories, further reinforcing Nefab’s credibility, transparency, and trustworthiness in delivering accredited testing services.
