Nefab begins operations at a new plant in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Nefab begins operations on October 1st at its new facility located in one of the largest logistics hubs in southern Brazil: the Eco Parque Lourenço & Souza II, in Sapucaia do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul.

Rio Grande do Sul, October 1st, 2025 – Nefab, the Swedish company and global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, engineering and logistics services, begins operations on October 1st at its new facility located in one of the largest logistics hubs in southern Brazil: the Eco Parque Lourenço & Souza II, in Sapucaia do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, just 30 km from Porto Alegre and near the BR 116 highway.

With global revenues of 966 million US dollars in 2024, the company aims to grow by 100% worldwide by 2030. “Our 2030 strategy for sustainable growth will position Nefab as the leading global partner in sustainable packaging solutions and services, saving both environmental and financial resources across supply chains,” says Denilton Andrade, General Manager of Nefab in Brazil.

“This new facility reinforces our ongoing commitment to being present where our customers need us most. This is how we strengthen Nefab’s market position in South America, increasing our ability to support clients in key segments such as telecommunications equipment, energy, industrial, and automotive,” said Patric Vestlund, Executive Vice President of Nefab Group – Americas Region. “Our expanded market presence and portfolio of sustainable solutions will allow us to serve our customers even better,” he added.

A Global Leader

Nefab is a global leader across multiple segments worldwide, offering a wide range of solutions and services, including reusable and returnable packaging made of plywood, wood and sustainable plastics, fiber-based solutions, logistics services, and packaging reengineering for the telecommunications, energy, automotive, mining, and manufacturing sectors in South America.

In the new 2,000 m² facility located within an industrial complex, Nefab will have 20 employees providing local and global customers with products such as ExPak (a foldable, nail-free plywood box solution that takes up minimal storage space and is very easy to assemble) and CratePak (a sturdy packaging solution that can be assembled in under a minute without nails), among other packaging solutions and logistics services.

“Our high-quality packaging solutions are designed to accommodate specific shapes and sizes and eliminate the risk of product damage during assembly, storage, and transportation, while also improving flow and logistical efficiency,” explains Andrade.

“Known for their durability and made from high-quality, sustainably sourced materials, our solutions are robust, deliver long-lasting performance, require minimal maintenance, and offer a cost-effective logistics solution for companies looking to invest in a greener future,” he adds.

The company is committed to expanding and scaling its capabilities, offering sustainable solutions with global reach and local expertise, while prioritizing strict compliance with relevant regulations and continuously enhancing its sustainable practices in balance with optimal operational performance.

Growth in South America

The company began its operations in Brazil 28 years ago in Embu (SP), and in late 2015, moved to a new facility in the city of Caçapava (SP), strategically located along Brazil’s busiest highway, the Presidente Dutra. Over the past five years, the unit has doubled its revenue.

The newly inaugurated facility in Rio Grande do Sul will be the group’s third plant in South America, following Nefab’s announcement in 2024 of its first unit in Chile, located in Viña del Mar, as part of the group’s growth strategy.

Tradition of Innovation

Nefab has a long tradition of innovation, born from a simple and creative idea. In the 1940s, its founders developed a sturdy box for transporting bread. Over time, the company’s reputation as a manufacturer of innovative and sustainable packaging grew, and it began offering complete packaging solutions to customers around the world.

Rooted in its strong heritage and culture, Nefab’s continued growth has been driven by innovation and an expanded range of products. Some of the latest additions to Nefab’s growing portfolio include thermoformed and fiber-based packaging solutions, packaging for lithium-ion batteries, as well as digital and logistics services. The company also continuously adds new facilities and capabilities to support its customers, offering a combination of local service with global reach.

How to Protect Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment in Transit?

Semiconductor manufacturing leaves no room for error. Every process, every component, every piece of equipment operates within microscopic tolerances, and that precision can’t be compromised once the machines leave the cleanroom. Yet, shipping high-value parts such as electrostatic chucks, pedestals, or showerheads introduces a whole new layer of risk.
