Recycling and Recycled Content

Corrugated packaging is made from renewable fibers and is 100% recyclable. Accepted in the world’s largest recycling stream—paper recycling—corrugated materials offer accessible recycling options for consumers and businesses worldwide. Globally, 71% of all paper is recycled according to data collected by the EBB (European Environmental Bureau), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and Simapro. Corrugated fibers can be reused up to seven times, greatly maximizing resource efficiency and reducing the demand for virgin materials.

Reduced Landfill Waste

High recovery and recycling rates mean significantly less corrugated packaging ends up in landfills compared to less recycled alternatives. This makes corrugated packaging especially valuable for export and one-way shipments. Nefab customers have achieved up to 75% landfill waste reduction by switching to fully fiber-based packaging.  

Lower CO₂ Emissions

Corrugated packaging helps lower carbon emissions throughout the supply chain. Its lightweight design reduces transport weight, and the use of low-carbon materials further limits emissions. By transitioning to fully fiber-based packaging, many Nefab customers have seen significant decreases in CO₂ output, especially for export and one-way shipping flows.
