Sleeve packs are modular, reusable packaging systems made of three essential components: A plastic pallet base, a folding sleeve, and a plastic lid.

Sleeve design

The folding plastic sleeve is made of a rigid material, such as corrugated plastic, and forms the walls of the pack. The sleeve is collapsible, allowing it to be folded down when not in use for efficient storage and return shipping. Drop-down doors simplify loading and unloading.

Customization

Custom inserts keep the product in position

Success case: Sleeve pack with custom inserts for military dampeners

When custom containers with special requirements are needed, Nefab can combine standard sleeve packs with custom inserts. This was the case for a customer that needed to safely transport large military dampeners, while allowing the pick-up points on the part to be easily accessible for robotic handling. In addition, the overall design of the unit load was a key factor for the project to maximize freight utilization.

Sleeve pack as outer packaging: A sleeve pack was chosen as the outer packaging, as a lightweight alternative to a standard bulk bin. A standard mirror image pallet and lid with seatbelts keep the entire unit load secure during both static and dynamic conditions.

Custom inserts: The design included a two-piece thermoformed tray for robotic handling, a urethane plug to absorb vibration, and injection-molded TPU inserts to protect the parts and prevent damage during transit.
